LEISURE CONCEPT OF THE YEAR NEW

This category rewards the best leisure concepts for their originality and exceptional performances over the past 12 months. This category will consider the increase in global sales and the number of new units.

This award boosts and recognises retail companies, launched within the past 3 years, for the originality of their concept (product, marketing campaign, innovation, shop fit-out, etc.), their achievements, entrepreneurial spirit and long-term development plans.

This category is open to new retailers from all sectors that launched their concept between January 2020 and May 2023.

BEST RETAIL OMNICHANNEL STRATEGY

Reimagining the role of the physical store in an omnichannel distribution network: this category celebrates retailers who have adopted the best strategy to support their omnichannel distribution network. Judges will be evaluating online-to-offline services, the impact of this strategy on online and physical sales, the type of technologies implemented to offer a unique experience to the shopper.

BEST SUSTAINABLE INITIATIVE – RETAIL BRANDS

This category looks at the ways in which retailers are working towards a more sustainable future – including cutting carbon emissions, recycling, upcycling, responsible manufacturing – and how effective these initiatives really are.

This category looks at the ways in which property players are working towards a more sustainable future – including cutting carbon emissions, recycling, upcycling, responsible manufacturing – and how effective these initiatives really are.

This category is open to property players from all sectors for initiatives launched between January 2021 and May 2023.

BEST REFURBISHMENT & REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT NEW

This category rewards the most successful refurbishment & redevelopment of a shopping centre, a retail park, outlet centres or all other retail sites based on: improvement and enhancement of an existing building or centre, transformation for new uses achieving a new economic utilisation of the asset.

This category is open to developers, local authorities and architects with projects opened between January 2021 and May 2023.

BEST FOOD HALL & FOOD COURT PROJECT NEW

This category rewards the most original new concept of Food Hall or Food court launched over the past 3 years . The judges will reward the originality of the concept considering the wide variety of food, the local and artisanal initiatives, the interior design and environment, the integration of new technologies and sustainable initiatives. The concept must be viable, expandable and profitable.

This category is open to property players or multi-concept and multi-vendor operators from F&B sector for projects launched between January 2021 and May 2023.

BEST NEW DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

This category celebrates all new projects in the retail real estate market, including assets such as shopping centres, outlets, retail parks and all other retail sites. The jury will take a closer look at projects showing innovation through new technologies, environmental and local impact of the project, retail mix and architectural features that combined aim to increase footfall, customer satisfaction, and average spend, and offer a unique experience in a new shopping destination.

BEST URBAN REGENERATION PROJECT

This category rewards the most successful regeneration of an urban area within which retail development has played a significant role. Judges will look at the integration of the project into its environment, its contribution to the local community, its attractiveness for city shoppers, its retail mix and the cooperation between the local authority, the developer and the community.

This category is open to developers, local authorities and architects with projects opened between January 2021 and May 2023.

BEST RETAIL INNOVATION SOLUTION

Innovation impacts the modern retail industry in many ways. As shopping becomes more connected and digital tech impacts the customer journey more and more, brands and shopping centres must rethink every part of the retail experience. This category is about celebrating the greatest innovations in retail technology. Judges will be looking at those solutions that enhance the shopping experience and reinforce the efficiency of the retailer or shopping centre in terms of sales, footfall, customer loyalty and growth opportunities.

This category is open to start-ups, service providers, retailers and developers with projects launched within the past three years.

BEST DESIGN BY FRENCH DESIGNERS

In partnership with Institut Français du Design.

This category celebrates innovative design in new retail store concepts.

Finalists will be selected by Institut Français du Design.
